An easy 22 kilometre loop ride from Dungog to Fosterton and return. About 210m of undulating climbing and it includes a great rest spot about halfway on the Williams river at Newells Crossing. This is also a fantastic spot for a quick dip on a hot day. Grade – Easy. Includes 3k unsealed road.
ROUTE DESCRIPTION and MAP
To start the ride head north down Dowling Street and across the Railway line. After crossing over Coorei Bridge over the Williams River continue about 1k on Stroud Road.
Turn left into the northern entry to Fosterton Loop. Continue on the Fosterton Loop, (This section has about 3kms of good gravel road, just be careful on the downhill left hand corners), until you reach:
The low level wooden bridge that crosses the Williams River. A good spot for a cooling dip. You will be dry by the time you get back to town. Continue up the road from the river and follow the undulations until:
At the T intersection turn right back into Dowling Street.
